Chris Yakscoe Obituary Pennsylvania, Died In Skiing Accident In Park City Utah

Chris Yakscoe Obituary: The Pennsylvania community is mourning the tragic loss of Chris Yakscoe, who passed away following a skiing accident in Park City, Utah. His untimely departure has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Chris was a man who radiated warmth, joy, and an unwavering zest for life. He had an extraordinary ability to connect with people, making everyone feel like a lifelong friend within moments of meeting him. His adventurous spirit, infectious laughter, and boundless generosity made him the heart of every gathering. Whether through his love for travel, sports, or simply spending quality time with loved ones, Chris embraced every moment with enthusiasm and sincerity.

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Chris formed deep and lasting friendships, many of which began on a basketball court, a beachside summer, or an impromptu road trip. His friend Nick Nagy, in a heartfelt tribute, recalled their chance meeting at Pitt, their unforgettable summer in Ocean City, and the countless memories they built over the years. The post reads:

Even though you’re gone, I’ll never let you die. The world lost a light yesterday, one that shined bright in every way. I never met a person he couldn’t befriend (he treated everyone like he’d known them his whole life), a good time he couldn’t make better, or a situation he couldn’t handle. Yesterday, in Park City, he was unfairly taken from us far before anyone ever should be. The magnitude of this loss is something I’ll feel forever, as I know many others will.
I met Chris by chance in 2008. I had just transferred to Pitt and was playing pickup basketball at Trees Hall when he needed a 5th for his team. I threw him a backdoor pass, and he scored the winning point. I went to my first party at Melwood that night. A few months later, I convinced him to move to Ocean City with me for the summer for an “internship” (it was not an internship). Chris was always there during every memorable moment of the 17 years that followed.
Two weeks ago, Shan and I were in Miami for our baby moon. I texted Chris, and it just so happened he was in Miami as well (when it came to traveling, the guy was a king). He immediately changed plans to come have dinner with us. We talked about the future- our new addition coming in May, his job/the speaking engagements he was doing, how we would find a way to work together on our own thing, all the traveling he had planned with Maddie, how his Avalon house this summer was right by the gallaghers. We talked about the past- recent summers in Avalon, Ocean City, his nephews (of which he promptly sent us several pictures and videos), and stories from the time since I had last seen him. I’ve relived that dinner 100 times since I got the news yesterday. We didn’t know it was our last time together, but like always, he made sure to squeeze every once out of it, even walking back to the Airbnb with us rather than calling an Uber from the restaurant. and like always, he intercepted the server and paid for the meal because he was hospitable to a fault.
I have three keychains on my car keys. Chris loved the fact that 1 key chain is of my son Milo and the other 2 are pictures of me and him (“so you like me more than Milo”). We were keychain salesmen after all. We were also best friends who were connected in a way that I’m not sure everyone would understand. I’ll never be the same without him.
i know he’ll be waiting for me, wherever that is. and I know the first thing he’ll say. but I’m going to keep that to myself. Until that time brother- I love you, Chris Yakscoe.
